At Custom Paint and Restorations we are proud to offer a number of quality substitutions to paint removal, degreasing, chemical cleaning/coatings removal, restoration and protection.
Media Blasting is a quick and effective part of our restoration process and ensures that you receive the best quality finish right from the word go.
Our specially designed crushed glass, glass bead and 100% food grade baking soda is delivered to surfaces by means of LOW PRESSURE compressed air at high velocity.
WHY GLASS BLAST?
"Blast Mate" crushed glass blasting media is the ideal product for the restoration process.
Crushed glass quickly and effectively removes paint and body fillers without creating excessive heat. It will not work harden metal panels allowing for metal shaping during the bodywork process. Crushed glass delivers a natural, “white metal” finish that many other sandblasting abrasives cannot, and significantly decreases contaminate embedment issues as the media is not reusable.
Because Blast Mate is made from fully recycled glass you are also helping with the sustainability of our environment by limiting waste to our landfills and preserving our natural resources.
WHY SODA BLAST?
The soft, sharp granules of the baking soda are used to clean, degrease and remove paint from many surfaces without any damage to the surface including bearings and seals. Soda is best used on engine and mechanical parts or surfaces that are thin. Many other methods such as garnet blasting, are too abrasive to the surface and are not environmentally friendly.
Custom Paint and Restorations uses blasting media that is 100% food grade, biodegradable, non toxic, non hazardous, non sparking, non flammable, water soluble, odourless, non irritant to the eyes and skin, non corrosive mould resistant, and can even eliminate odours.
Soda Blasting is so gentle to delicate surfaces that we are able to remove paint from an aluminium soft drink can without damage to the can. Unlike sandblasting or garnet blasting, Soda blasting creates very minimal or NO heat which ensures the shape and strength of the surface being blasted.
